Listen! The Bridegroom Speaks About Rejoicing!

Dearest Bride, When you think about My return what is the thought arising from the corridor of your mind and knocking on the door of your heart? What emotions do reflecting on My return stir up in your soul? Do you day dream about how wonderful it will be to finally be united with Me? I have listened to your heart and peeked at your soul this past week and lately the reflections of your spirit have no joyful image! I understand you are going through hard times! Lawlessness is not easy to deal with, especially when there are a lot of people habitually sinning! In your generation, most choices are leading towards bad options because people are doing what is easy, culturally correct and commonly done by others, instead of what is right. I can suppose, in times such as these, the consequences of people's self absorbed lifestyle is difficult to bear. I have walked in your shoes and I understand how you feel! I can empathize with how your outlook on life can be affected as you regularly receive negative input from your world. In light of all My suffering, joy was My choice, I chose to rejoice in the good times and the bad times. Do you, My Church? Do you have joy? Are you rejoicing in all things?

Desiring God More Than His Blessings

How many of us can actually say, 'I am not jealous of anyone else or envious of what others have. If God gave it to them, then I want them to enjoy it"?

The Word says, "Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have" (Hebrews 13:5 NKJV). I believe God tests us to see if we will live by this verse.

There are times when He will put somebody in front of us who has exactly what we want, just to see how we will respond. Until we can pass His "I am happy for you because you are blessed" test, we are never going to have any more than what we have right now.

If you have asked God for something and He hasn't given it to you yet, rest assured that He is not holding out on you. He simply wants to make sure that you rid yourself of jealousy and make Him your top priority.

God wants us to prosper in every way. He wants people to see His goodness and how well He takes care of us. But we must desire God more than we desire His blessings.

Prayer Starter: God, I want You to show me the areas of my life where I've given in to jealousy and covetousness, and help me rearrange my priorities. I want to desire You more than Your blessings.

This is so true, I believe we need to come into a Holy Alignment with our Salvation. We are called to God 1^st. The Father God of our Salvation desires a "completely" from us! God wants us to be All-IN with Him. We need to be in pursuit of finding the position of Oneness with God in the ALL of our everything and this is being ALL-In with God, Holy Aligned with His Kingdom purposes with our life-roots dug deeply in His Kingdom soil. More of Him, less of us, more of His divine nature, less of our human condition is our Holy habit that we need to consistently establish in our lives; from every moment to every choice we need to put God 1^st, we need to choose Jesus 1^st over our every want. I hope in 2012 to learn the spiritual habit of making my 1^st choice the right choice! AWE-GOD!

Obedience is a far reaching choice; it closes the gates of hell and opens the windows of heaven, and it has the power to affect many people. Just think of it: Because of Jesus' willingness to be obedient, countless multitudes will be brought into right standing with God. Joyce Meyer

Kimberly, walk on water!?!

Matthew 14:26-32 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

Peter exhibited GREAT faith when he stepped out on the water... but then he allowed his immediate surroundings to hinder his walk! Peter's faith began with a tremendous bold step, but it required a level of focus that he wasn't used to. Follow through.... that was the problem; those pesky waves, and the way he usually thought about and experienced water; (not something that generally supports your feet)...

We all know what Peter should have done, right? Keep his eyes on the Lord, NOT the waves!!! That's easy for us to say. But how many of us have ever stepped out of the boat? I didn't notice any of the other disciples playing follow the leader with Peter. :)

Kimberly, I see two things from this: First, put a little adventure into your life; step out on the water; you might actually enjoy the exhilaration and really glorify God on the way. And secondly, If and when you do, learn from Peter's mistake. Make sure you live life keeping your focus on the Lord (not on your own spiritual ambitions)...because you can be totally confident the waves will come, once you're out of the boat. But watching the Lord of Life walking there with you will give you the vision to follow through. Now that is another Holy Spirit moment… Make sure you live life keeping your focus on the Lord not on your own spiritual ambitions! Wow… that is an adjustment I realize I have been making over the last 3 years, just did not know how to put it in words… that is the truth… I set so many ambitions for myself spiritually and when I don't live up to them, I sink… My focus is key and I need it to be on The Father God. Yes my immediate moment does hinder my faith walk, I need to learn to follow through with followship! My new level of focus needs to be followship!

Love and Honor

"Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves." Romans 12:10

What does it mean to be devoted in love and to honor another above myself? It is much more than being selfless—I gladly prefer to put another's needs ahead of my own. Because I hold the relationship in such high esteem, I want them to feel the power of being preferred over my agenda or expectations. In marriage devoted love matters most.
Husbands who love by engaging their wife's emotions grow in patience and understanding. The insensitive coldly dismiss and dishonor a loved one's concerns, but a true lover looks for ways to work things out for their spouse's benefit. A wife honors her husband when she seeks to know his work world and empathize with his challenges. Only you, with love and honor, can uniquely meet certain God-given needs in your spouse.
"Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my beloved among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love." Song of Songs 2:3-4
Devotion to one another flows out of our devotion to the Lord. The more we allow Jesus to love us, the more we have capacity to love others. Our heavenly Father waits patiently to hear our hearts and then opens His heart of healing grace, insightful wisdom, caring conviction and patient forgiveness. We honor Him to honor others.
Is your devotion to the almighty dollar or to Almighty God? Do you honor heaven's agenda over the ways of the world? Your selfless devotion to family, friends and faith forever marks them with your Master's fingerprints of love and honor. Therefore, make it your goal to grow your relationships in love, honor and glad service for God. A sense of superiority has no home in relationships—love esteems others above themselves.
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others." Philippians 2:3-4

Honor heaven's agenda over my own… this is where I am growing. Honoring also has attached to it good attitudes, I don't think honor is honor without a Godly attitude serving it forward. My devotion to my life's work for God comes out of my AWE and honor of Him. I love what He said about selfless devotion, that it was fingerprints of love and honor that we leave with others. Value the Infinite more than valuing the human wants and this is loving others more than yourself.

AWE-GOD! Thank you Holy Spirit for leading me to this book to this page to receive what I needed to hear. I need to develop my relationship with the Father God. Forgive me Lord for leaving You out of the picture. This is a Triune God for a reason and I have been ignoring my Father God in the aspect of my relationship with the Triune God. I realize that after this week of fasting. I need to grow deeper in relationship with the Father God .I am His daughter, He is my Spiritual Father, my forever Father. He is the ONE Who in His Purposeful Providence, cares for me with such excellence. Cause me Holy Spirit to know Him better, to love Him more and reverence Him always! AWE-GOD!

AWE Lord God! I pray for a celebrated faith that is content with sightless submission to Your Call, a followship that is set in contentment in YOU alone and endued with the action of willingness to surrender all and follow Jesus Christ because of the experienced joy that earth's greatest does not measure up to with heavens slightest!

In no way is it enough to set out cheerfully with God on any venture of faith. You must also be willing to take your ideas of what the journey will be like and tear them into tiny pieces for nothing on the itinerary will happen as you expect. I just lived this out! I was so restless, the day was gone and I felt weak and I knew I needed to take a break from all things and just walk with God. I could not find my way out of the restlessness because God designed it that way, He knew I needed to stop my life before I stumbled over things in my heart that needed to be dealt with. He took my hand and led me by His Way and I followed Him all week as we delved into my soul and the dark restlessness lost it's hold on me as I submitted to God's cleansing and healing touch. He has shown me what to do to stay out of this darkness, to move forward in complete trust and followship. Thank you Jesus for an incredible week with you, I am so grateful that you love me enough to confront me, change me and encourage me!

God has ordained every situation in your life with the sufficiency of His purposes in play, and they will lead to His Sovereign Goodness, because your life in Christ is infinitely great and eventually all God-Goodness will surface from the unseen to the seen as His perfect timing reveals breaks through from heaven to earth.

This is an appropriate scripture to end my fast and seeking God week with! It tells everything in His Voice that He has spoken to me this week. I need to make peace with my family as I follow after Him, I need to leave my past behind reconciled in peace as far as it depends on me. I need to strengthen my relationship with the Father God, because this will bolster up my feeble human condition. I need to not fear my future, because God does not fellowship with fear, He has never feared and does not want me to fear, but to trust Him completely. God has disciplined me using a strong restlessness and for that I am grateful, because during this time God exposed a dark place in my soul, an idol of nostalgia of my past and I have broken it by His Spirit and Truth and I am walking forward, leaving my past behind in followship of what God has for me today. My path is going in the right direction, I will not veer of course as I fully face my God and stop the habit of looking back with nostalgia for my past. This has caused feebleness in my soul. I have been charged by God to exercise foresight and be on the watch for others by exhorting and encouraging them with a heart of His compassion, because their story is my story and my story is their story because we share the same common denominator which is the Father God, we are His children and I commit to pray for them and mentor, hold them up and point them to Jesus, until they can stand positioned in His Grace and fully face Him, stepping out into the flow of His Kingdom Purposes. I am to continue to develop my AWE of God through a spoken gratefulness, a daily testimony of thanksgiving to AWE-GOD and develop community in the Bride of Christ founded upon this AWE of God! I am to work hard at my salvation by creating a spiritual habit where I make the right choice the 1^st time. Isaiah 5-6

I am God's Representative… Wow… that needs to sink into my life, come out of my heart and through my actions. God is my greatly beloved and I am His representative of a love such as this one!
I am His vineyard, His chosen people.
God did so much for and in His vineyard and looked for it to produce grapes because of how well He had tended it.
God was upset about His Vineyard because He had worked so hard and nothing happened so He said He would take away the hedge, the hedge of protection and God Favor. This so much looks like America to me.
God laid his vineyard to waste, did not prune it or cultivate it and briers and thorns arose. He took away the rain. Why because when He looked for justice He saw oppression and bloodshed, when He looked for righteousness, for uprightness and right standing with God he heard a cry of distress and oppression. People violently expelled the poor in order to feed their greed for power and money and land ownership.
God said because of this that even the beautiful houses would not be inhabited. The provider of seed and harvest would be corrupted because they have not regarded the Lord. This is where we are headed in this country, Oh my heart hurts for us, we will be brought low and we will be humbled by God, we will know captivity to our enemies because we have stricken the knowledge of God. Honorable men will be glory famished and common people will parch with thirst. The common man is bowed down, the great man brought low and the eyes of the haughty are humbled.
We bring punishment upon ourselves by our wickedness. We call evil good and good evil and put darkness in place of light and light transposed to darkness. We are wise in our own eyes and shrewed in our own sight. We justify and acquit the guilty for a bribe and take away the rights of the innocent and righteous… our root will be like rottenness and our blossom will go up like fine dust because we have rejected God and His truth.

Isaiah 6

Isaiah saw a vision of God sitting on a throne high and lifted up… Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts, the whole earth is filled with His Glory

He heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? then I said I, Here am I; send me.

God shared His frustration with the people who hear and hear continually but don't apprehend it in their mind, they see and hear and understand not with their hearts. Until they understand with their hearts and turn again and be healed. The Lord will remove the people and a tenth of them will remain in the land, the holy seed, the elect remnant is the stump and substance of Isreal

Mark 2

Jesus was discussing the Word in Peter's house and it was full.. people wanted to bring a paralytic to Him to be healed, they believed in Jesus so much that they went to great lengths to get this man to Jesus, they dug through the roof above Jesus. Jesus saw the faith and confidence they had in God and because of that He healed the man. How awesome is that. Jesus responded to their confident faith in God.
The Scribes in their spiritual pride were angry with Jesus because He healed someone on the Sabbath. He showed them the power and authority that He had was greater much more so than their religiosity.
Jesus continued to teach, meeting the people where they were at, going to them. I love that. He did not sit around, He went to where the people were at.
The Pharisees were put off that Jesus went to where the sinners where and He actually sat and ate with them. Jesus shared His mission at that point to minister life to the weak and sick and call the sinner to repentance.
Jesus was confronted and asked why His disciples did not fast and He told them they did not need to fast when the Bridegroom was with them, but in the days ahead when the Bridegroom was taken away that they would need to fast.
Jesus described Himself as a New Wine that would not be put into an old wineskin, but a New Wine that would be put into new fresh wineskins.
The disciples picked off grain on the Sabbath and the disciples confronted Jesus… He told them the story of David when he was in need of food how He went into the house of God and ate the sacred loaves. He then explained how the Sabbath was made on account of and for the sake of man, not man for the Sabbath. I am Lord of the Sabbath said Jesus!

Man's offense "smells to heaven": massacres, broken treaties, beatings-up, theft, kidnappings, enslavement, deportation, floggings, lynchings, rape, insult, mockery, and odious hypocrisy, make up that smell. How do you know when God is stirring your heart for a change in ministry assignment?

I work with pastors every week who are asking this question. I previously posted my answer to this question, but after several conversations recently I thought it was time for a revision to strengthen some of the points based on what I'm currently learning and observing. This can be one of the most grueling decisions a Christian leader makes. Because most of us feel we are in positions God has called us to do, it is often more difficult to leave one called position for another called position.

Several times in my ministry, first as a layperson and since then in vocational ministry, God has called me to leave one ministry and begin another. It can be a scary place to face the unknown, yet know that God is up to something new in your life. In sharing my experience, I am hoping it can help others process through what God may be doing in their life. Please realize that God uses unequaled experiences in each of our lives, but at the same time there are some common patterns I think each of us may experience, while the details remain unique.

Here are 5 steps I have experienced as God has led me to something new:

Wonderful sweet success – Each time the door of a new opportunity opened it began opening (looking back) when things were going well in my current ministry.

Inner struggle – I usually have not been able to understand what God is up to, but there is something in me (and usually in my wife at the same time) where I know God is doing something new. It could be a growing dissatisfaction, consistent unexplained frustrations, or just an uneasiness where I am currently. While I do not know what it is, and often not even if it involves a change in my place of ministry, I know God is working something new in my heart.

Closeness to Christ – Brennan Manning calls it a Dangerous love of Christ. During the times leading up to a change of ministry assignment I will be growing in my relationship with Christ, usually in new depths of trust and abandonment. Again, looking back I can see this clearly, but at the time I usually am just enjoying the closeness to Christ not expecting anything.

Opportunity presents itself – An opportunity seems to come from nowhere. In some seasons there has been multiple opportunities at the same time. Reflecting back, I can see this is the pattern that has occurred each time. It is only after these first three experiences that God brings a new opportunity my way. This is probably because my spirit must be totally aligned with His Spirit in order for me to trust the new work He calls me to, because I have yet to feel completely "ready" for the next step in my journey with Christ. New steps of obedience always involve a leap of faith on my part. I'm always stretched in my trust beyond where I've been previously, but this process prepares me to be ready to say "Yes Lord…Here am I…send me."

I surrendered to God's call – After I receive confirmation in my spirit, review the journey God has had us on, and Cheryl and I agree where God is leading, I have yet to refuse the next assignment. That does not mean it is easy for us to leave our current ministry, but it has always been most rewarding to know we are in the center of God's will for our life.

A special word to the spouse: Cheryl has never been "ready" to leave friends in our current ministry, but she has always lined with me in knowing God was calling us to a new work in our life. Cheryl has always had the same Spirit's leading that I am having, often before me. God has never allowed us to be confused with differing messages. That's part of our confirmation.

Discerning a change in ministry assignment can be a difficult task, especially when you are comfortable where you are currently. Perhaps my experiences can help.

Thank you for this, it helped me today! We had been involved in Campus Life Military Ministry at Ft. Benning Georgia and were just enjoying sharing the Word, loving and encouraging the soldiers and watching God draw them to Him, encourage them and change their destiny. It was awesome! God suddenly moved us and it has been a difficult transition. I realize that I am called to God 1st and that holds me steady, but I had extreme restlessness in our new town and I could not shake it, so I took a week off from everything and fully faced God. God showed me that my restlessness came from looking back with "nostalgia" and this nostalgia became a strong hold and he told me to get my mind out of the past and move forward with Him in complete followship and trust of Him. So I am letting go of my past and waiting on Him with active faith that does not despise a small beginning and a hope that faces forward, expecting a suddenly!

I resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified… My message was a demonstration of God's power. Rest your faith not on mans wisdom but on God's power. We speak of God's secret wisdom, hidden in God, destined for glory before time began. If the men of Jesus's age understood God's wisdom, they would not have crucified Him. God reveals to us by His Spirit. Who knows other mans thoughts, we do not, but God does. I did not come in eloquence and superiority… I came in weakness and fear and trembling.. message not in wise or persuasive words but in God's power so your faith would not rest in my words but in God's… we do not speak of the wisdom in this age, but we speak in the wisdom of God's Kingdom culture. As it is written, no one truly knows what God has planned for us.. We Are The Family Of God! We Are Prompted By His Holy Spirit As We Think – ACT- And Have Our Being In Him – Under His Authority And Influence!

4 Now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments (gifts, extraordinary powers distinguishing certain Christians, due to the power of divine grace operating in their souls by the Holy Spirit) and they vary, but the [Holy] Spirit remains the same.

We are each gifted by the Holy Spirit, according to the Purposes of God for our time such as this. I am artistic in my unique Kingdom giftedness, because of God's purpose set forth and accomplish His Will through all of us, on earth as it is in heaven. Divine Grace is in commission in me and in you, by the Holy Spirit's pursuit of Kingdom Mission that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess Jesus Christ is Lord. Because your Spiritual Gifts are different than mine, doesn't mean I am better or more special, we both share the same common life denominator, The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit remains the same, He breathes power and strength into all our lives and we remain equally underneath His authority.

5 And there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration, but it is the same Lord [Who is served]. 6 And there are distinctive varieties of operation [of working to accomplish things], but it is the same God Who inspires and energizes them all in all. 7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the [Holy] Spirit [the evidence, the spiritual illumination of the Spirit] for good and profit.

We are all God's Seasoned Servants! Variety is God's life spice! He has loved creating us all different, putting His special, unique design on each of us. We all have different finger prints! How AWE-Inspiring is that! We are uniquely and wonderfully made, yet we all are inspired and empowered by the same Holy Spirit. Illuminate God, let the evidence of His gifts in you be for His goodness to be discovered by others in you and through you and His Kingdom revenue through your life be God-Glory!

8 To one is given in and through the [Holy] Spirit [the power to speak] a message of wisdom, and to another [the power to express] a word of knowledge and understanding according to the same [Holy] Spirit;9 To another [wonder-working] faith by the same [Holy] Spirit, to another the extraordinary powers of healing by the one Spirit;10 To another the working of miracles, to another prophetic insight (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose); to another the ability to discern and distinguish between [the utterances of true] spirits [and false ones], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, to another the ability to interpret [such] tongues.11 All these [gifts, achievements, abilities] are inspired and brought to pass by one and the same [Holy] Spirit, Who apportions to each person individually [exactly] as He chooses.

As God chooses, in His precise and perfect purpose, we are shaped, designed to be His vessels of light.
We shine in multi-colored giftedness, yet we all shine because of the brilliance of God's inspiration, His Holy Spirit in us! We are different and diverse in design, as God chooses with great Kingdom purpose, our part in His Sovereign Will. God Chooses and we are given!

12 For just as the body is a unity and yet has many parts, and all the parts, though many, form [only] one body, so it is with Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).13 For by [means of the personal agency of] one [Holy] Spirit we were all, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free, baptized [and by baptism united together] into one body, and all made to drink of one [Holy] Spirit.

We Are The Bride Of Christ, His Church! One In Christ – Many Parts! We all have the common denominator of God's Holy Spirit! God's Holy Spirit is in each of us and that makes us completely the same, yet diversified in Kingdom purpose! We are unified because of the Holy Spirit in us! Omnipresent Reality Check! God is in us, God is for us, God is using us as individuals uniquely gifted by His Holy Spirit, empowered as ONE by His Holy Spirit! AWE-GOD!

14 For the body does not consist of one limb or organ but of many. 15 If the foot should say, Because I am not the hand, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body? 16 If the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I do not belong to the body, would it be therefore not [a part] of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where [would be the sense of] hearing? We need God! We were created to need God! We are called to God 1^st! AWE-GOD is our spiritual father and we are His family! We need each other! We were designed individually as God's perfect plan to fit together in Sovereign unity, completing His Will! The Holy Spirit mingles in us and creates a divine appointment of destiny as our lives weave together, fitting perfectly into His purposes in play and accomplishing His Kingdom goodness. Without each other, nothing works for God's glory. We were created to fit together, to share in God's mission as ONE in Christ Jesus. We need God! We need each other, it is the divine plan. In our human condition, our individual strengths fit together with our individual weaknesses, we were designed to care adequately for one another. We Are The Bride Of Christ, We Are God's Community On Earth As It Will Be In Heaven. If you hurt, I hurt. If you are honored, I am honored. Your story is my story and my story is your story and God's compassion for us, flows in us and undergirds us as we share it, weave it around our individual life stories, creating a three strand cord that is not easily broken, that is undergirded in the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. There is no greater Triune God, there is no greater Kingdom and there is no greater community than the Body of Christ!

Collectively we are all called to Jesus Christ 1^st! Father God has gifted us individually and we are divinely shaped and uniquely designed to do our part. What I am called to, fits perfectly into what you are called to because we both are called to God 1^st. I am being found in Christ Jesus, so are you, yet we function differently with distinctive Kingdom purpose that all works together to accomplish God's Sovereign Will on earth as it is in heaven. What a glorious plan that our AWE-GOD has set into motion. He designs each piece, He sets it apart, He anoints it by His Holy Spirit and He orchestrates each spiritual sound to bring together a symphony of Kingdom purposes versed in the highest grace of God's Love! Under the direction of His Holy Spirit, The Bride of Christ, The Church sounds heavenly and those who have ears to hear are drawn into God's Presence and Powerful Love and are saved, delivered and healed! We Are The Bride Of Christ- We Are His Church and we together activate the Love of God as we individually gifted, fit together in unity and bring into our mission field the Kingdom purposed God-given gifts and shine God's Glory. We've been studying about the Holy Spirit a lot at our church lately. Can other people see the evidence of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in your life? God intends for the gifts of His Spirit to be at work within (and without) His church. In the case of the scripture for today, Saul (ALSO called Paul) exercises two of his many gifts: discernment and boldness. Spiritual gifts are obvious.

"Spiritual gifts are God-granted empowerment for ministry on the part of the believer for the benefit of the Kingdom of God" (unknown author).

God will not send you without equipping you. When God called Bob, Laura, Polly and me to change our lives by planting a new church in Ashe County to serve His people, HE equipped us to do what He called us to do. He also gave us a passion for the people and the church to which He called us. He did all of this through the work of the Holy Spirit for the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit taught us many lessons through people who have come into and out of our lives over the years including how to be a greater witness for the Lord Jesus Christ.

YOU, who are believers, have access to the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead and empowered Paul to speak with boldness. I ask you again; does your life show evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit? If you know Jesus, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is there. Learn to lean on Jesus and yield to the Holy Spirit. He is the one opening the doors for you to share the gospel, and to walk through the trials and tribulations of life. Pastor Elliott

Mark Chapter 1

The Good News is about Jesus, the Messiah
The Prophet Isaiah had written about sending a messenger to prepare the way.
The messenger was John the Baptist-
John spoke of Jesus as someone who was coming who was greater- so much so that he was not even worthy to untie the straps of his sandals
John said that he baptized with water but Jesus would baptize with the Holy Spirit
John baptized Jesus and the heavens split apart and the Holy Spirit descended on Him like a dove.
A Voice From Heaven said: You are my dearly loved Son, and you bring me great joy
The Holy Spirit prompted Jesus to go into the wilderness, where He was tempted by satan for forty days. Angels took care of Him.
John was later arrested and Jesus went into Galilee – speaking the good news about The Kingdom of God.
Jesus saw Simon and Andrew… brothers and fishermen, He called to them to follow Him and He would teach them how to be fishers of men.
They left everything, their business, their family and went with Jesus.
Jesus taught with authority, and it was really inspiring and different from the teachers of the religious law…. When He spoke demons responded, and a man with a demon began shouting . The demons recognized Who Jesus was, calling Him The Holy One Of God.
Jesus commanded the demon to come out of the man… the people were amazed at Jesus's authority and the new spread quickly.
Jesus healed Peter's mother and then He healed many people, He cast out demons but did not allow them to speak… amazing authority in action.
Jesus went to an isolated place to pray before day break.
When people who were terribly sick came before Jesus, He was moved with compassion.

Sometimes I think the selfishness of this generation has dulled our heart of compassion. Jesus was moved with compassion. Are we?

Psalm 25:20 O keep me, Lord, and deliver me; let me not be ashamed or disappointed, for my trust and my refuge are in You.

Healthy shame reminds us that we are imperfect human beings with weaknesses and limitations. It reminds us that we need God.

Unfortunately, when the healthy shame doesn't stop there, it becomes unhealthy and poisonous. When a person doesn't ask for or receive forgiveness, they can punish themselves and start to hate who they are.

Don't spend your life in this position. Remember your rightful position as an heir and child of God (see Romans 8:17). Unhealthy shame will make you forget who you are in Christ, but healthy shame will remind you that you're nothing without Him. Today, ask God to help you discern the difference.

Drop the right to win. When you come into a potential fiery situation with a have-to-win attitude you cloud your ability to work for the best results. Self-centeredness always gets in the way of healthy conflict. Be humble and agree that you are going to do what is best, even if that means you don't get your way. This doesn't mean you give in to the other party, but the goal in conflict should not be to win personally, but to reach the best solution for everyone. Ron Edmondson

I think holding on to our "rights" really muddies up things and takes away from the clarity of God's Kingdom purpose in the situation. Selflessness is always surrendering "rights" so God's best can come forth out of every situation. I do trip up a lot when it comes to "my rights", wanting to have the last "say so", but heavenly hindsight trumps that in me when I remember I would not have eternal life if Jesus had held on to His rights!

Leaders of Integrity

"But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens." Exodus 18:21

Leaders with integrity are a rare breed within a group of citizens, whose utmost concern is, "What is in it for me?" A selfish society does not always select a leader for their integrity, but for their ability to manipulate a quick fix for chronic problems. It is this short sightedness that can set back a generation, because of their leader's greed and corruption.
However, men and women of integrity understand the big picture of principled leadership, and they value fear of God, trustworthiness and honest economics. A leader of integrity looks out over the long term, and discovers what is best for the culture, its citizens, churches and families. There is a resolve to do the right things, with the right people, for the right reasons. Leaders of integrity integrate uprightness with their quiet influence.
"Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason." Job 2:3
Therefore, select capable men and women who hold Christ and His commands in high esteem, who you can trust to do and say the right things, implemented in the right way. Leaders of integrity surround themselves with leaders of integrity. There is a high standard in their selection of leaders, because they want to represent the people extremely well. Competence and character are valued over loyal but incompetent friends with suspicious standards of behavior. A leader of integrity delegates to capable leaders.
So, select your leaders in government and church prayerfully, and only after extensive due diligence of their policies, integrity and track record. Blindly betting on one person is a bad process. Instead, select statesmen who will serve the people in the best interests of the country—who surround themselves with the best and the brightest, full of character. Most importantly, choose those who will submit to the accountability of God and man.
The early church experienced a similar selection process of leaders: "Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word (Acts 6:3-4)".
Who will I select as a leader that is best for my country, my family and my God?

Developing My AWE-GOD With An Attitude Of Gratitude!

2012 AWE-God Gratefulness! I can trust in You, Lord Jesus! You are faithful. Your Presence is forever for me. You are always good and as I flip Your Goodness to my gratefulness, my AWE of You develops strength and courage in me that trumps my impulsive fear nature with a joy that knows a God-Vigor like no other human strength. I can't – YOU CAN! I cry out to you in my weak state and secured is my spirit, because my heart is safeguarded in Your Favor and my soul is saturated in Your Infinite quiet. Be still restless soul and know Great God Goodness! Restlessness is an impulsive thief in the long nights of oppressive human condition, yet AWE-GOD always delivers me, not by the way I want, but by way of His Perfect-Provisional-Purpose, He is my Way-Maker. Bowing before God in humble reverence and complete submission, I completely yield my human comfort-preference and my life-path is paved in huge expectation, hope and trust in AWE-GOD! Bowed before Him, I arise leaving all things me at His feet and with my 1^st step up, I stride right into the Kingdom purposes, God's Sovereignty puts in play in my life. In the Kingdom purpose flow of my AWE-GOD, I am set free of the snares and pitiful traps of my enemy and delivered by God, in Great God Style to His safe house, my refuge and my hiding place.

Omnipresent Reality Check! God's Safe House Is His Presence, A Refuge Saturated By His Goodness. Infinitely So! AWE-GOD'S Presence Is A Hiding Place Where, Our Human Condition Is Discarded At The Door Of His Heart And His Holy Spirit Envelops The All Of Us, Anointing Our Heads With The Oil Of His Favor, Saturating Our Soul In His Great Strength And Positioning Us In The Current Of His Courage! Equal To None Other Is His Great Goodness!

Impulsive anxiety runs me into the dead end of my human condition; this is the endgame of my enemy who craftily tempts me daily to exchange God's Truth for his lies, therefore devising to steal my joy, peace and strength. BUT God in His Great Goodness delivers me from these enemy traps and teaches me the infinite value of followship. If I chase things of human value, I end up in a pit dug by my enemy. If I diligently pursue AWE-GOD and His Kingdom Purpose, following Jesus and yielding to the promptings of His Holy Spirit, my heart experiences AWE of God!

Omnipresent Reality Check! I will experience and learn the AWE of God's Great Goodness through daily interaction with His Holiness and consistent relationship with the purity of His Heart Character. God's Favor positions me daily in Holy Alignment with God's Great Goodness, and in this atmosphere my AWE of Him develops! AWE of God is the 1^st step to having a consistent life-pace of trust. Trust follows AWE and is always accompanied by God's courage, to journey with us to His place of refuge.

Awe-God's Great Goodness Set's My Heart Attitude Up In God-Strength, And Paves My Way With The Refuge Of His Favor And The Safety Of His Strength! Isaiah 1

He starts out by asking everyone to listen and hear what God has said.
God is saying He has brought us up and we have rebelled against Him.
The donkey knows its master's crib, but Israel does not know.
God felt misunderstood by His people.
He calls the nation sinful and "laden" with sin.. offspring of evildoers
He likened them to children who deal corruptly…
Forsaken the Lord, they are estranged from Him… used the word.. utterly
Their hearts are faint and their "whole" head is sick. He questions them "WHY'' do they continue to rebel.
Sole of the foot even to the head there is no soundness—bruises and sores…
They are in really bad shape… country desolate, cities burned with fire, foreigners devour their land
Daughter of Zion is a besieged city…
God left a few survivors or it would have been like Sodom and Gomorrah
He calls them out using the names Sodom and Gomorrah asking them to listen… He calls out the rulers!
He is upset about the multitude of their sacrifices because they mean nothing to them, they are just for show and do not change their hearts.
He tells them that He will not listen to their prayers, even though they are many because their hands are full of blood.
God asks them to wash and make themselves clean and to remove the evil deeds from their life. Stop sinning! Stop making the wrong choices and learn to do good.
He asks them to seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless and plead the widows cause.
You can see His mercy in action as He asks them to come to Him, reason with Him and He will forgive them. He promises them if they are willing and obedient that they would be provided for. He also says if they rebel, they will be eaten by the sword;
Faithful became a shore and justice now murders. Silver became dross and wine mixed with water. Princes rebel and they have not done as God asked them to do.
God turns His hand of favor away from them. After He redeems them by justice and those who repent by righteousness. Rebels and sinners will be broken, those who forsake God will be consumed.
Oak whose leaf withers, garden without water, strong becoming tinder and God's work a spark, both shall burn and none will quench them.

Isaiah 2

In the last days the mountain of the Lord's temple will be famous. All nations will go to it.
Many nations will go and look for the house of Jacob's God, look for Him to teach them how to live and live the way He wants them too.
The law of the Lord will be taught at Zion and His message will go out from Jerusalem. (Jesus was His message)
God deserted the people of Jacob, His people because the land was full of false beliefs and people practiced evil magic, making ungodly people their friends.
The people bowed to what their own hands made- they bowed to what their fingers shaped
God will bring men low, those who brag and are proud. God alone will be honored.

Interesting how sin snowballed until it had completely taken over… the whole head was sick. It started out small, but before it ended, the whole land was walking in unbelief and false beliefs. People were all into themselves and did not even recognize it was God Who gave them their next breath, it sounds like they were totally into what they could do for and of themselves. They were proud and arrogant braggarts who foolishly trusted in mankind instead of God. God was calling them out! He was done with them.

Struggles look for a Savior, and Jesus is our friend in our fight against those struggles.
Furthermore, envy can erode your eternal perspective by giving you a false impression of others who seem to live life without struggles. This is inaccurate and ill conceived. No amount of money or power can completely drive struggle from someone's life. In fact, it may compound struggles because of the complexity of choices that wealth creates. Someone's large amount of discretionary time may, on the surface, make them seem like they are without struggles, but they are not. There are still the internal struggles of sin and self against God's best. And there are the external struggles created by other people's choices and circumstances that are out of your control. Accept struggle as the Lord's way to grow you in His ways, for His glory. Struggles send you to pray for yourself and others.

Paul requested prayer, "I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me" (Romans 15:30).

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David [in the Hebrew New Testament it's written - Yeshua HaMashiach ben David], the son of Abraham.

New Testament genealogies of Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Christ) all identify Him as the son of king David. It was universally understood from the Tenach (OT) that the messiah would be descended from David and that he would restore the Davidic monarchy to its ultimate and most universal expression, even that this king would reign and sit on the throne forever.

Why was Yeshua's identification with David so significant? One reason is that David is the only man in the Bible about whom the Lord said, this is "a man after My ownheart". Yet we know well David's imperfections...adultery and murder -- so why would God say this about him? I believe it was David's lifelong love for and abandoned worship of the Lord, and also his contrite heart (Ps. 51) and the depth of his sorrow and repentance which showed this relationship to be the most important and precious in his life.

God isn't expecting perfection from us– His Son has provided that. Yeshua alone is the Man whose heart and actions are flawless. But David exemplified a man whose love and respect for his God were constant, if imperfect, a man after God's own heart. And this is the heart that God is seeking today, contrite, worshipful, and filled with respect and love for our God.

Kimberly, , David provides a wonderful example for us who are as imperfect as he was. We may fall and fail miserably – but its how we get up that makes the difference. Our constant desire to preserve this most precious of all relationships will show that we too have a heart after God. I know I want to hear Him say, "Yes, Kimberly, you are truly someone after my own heart!"

That is so true! I was so restless because my thoughts were all centered in nostalgia for the past, for the way it was before we "hit the road" traveling from job to job. I wanted it to be like it was, I wanted to be back in the house and live like "normal" people do, but God had a different design for us. I was stuck in the past in my mind.

I can pretty much understand that feeling the way he describes it as a vine torn from the trellis. It has been a tough year and I feel like my security is that vine. I am learning to "grow with the flow" of the Holy Spirit changing things up in my life. I never understood why God pulled us out of Ft. Benning like He did, it was truly a shocking suddenly. I kept on pursuing the question of why would He pull us out when the ministry was going so well. But now I see it wasn't about the ministry at all… God does not need us. It was about us and God was correcting us in His own way. We both had fallen back into old patterns of sin. Bob and his workaholic nature had gone overboard in the hours he was working and I in my spending had done the same. God disciplined us to teach us, correct us and put us back on the right path in that area of our lives. He brought us to Pinehurst, made a way for us to be somewhere we are not tempted by these things so we can have success and learn how to stay away from the excess of working to much and spending too much. We were honoring him in our ministry life, but not honoring and making the right choices in our personal life. So the move had nothing to do with ministry and all to do with us. Now He is asking us not to look back, but move forward in complete followship of HIM.

AWE-GOD'S Presence Is A Hiding Place Where Our Human Condition Is Discarded At The Door Of His Heart, And His Holy Spirit Envelops The All Of Us; Anointing Our Heads With The Oil Of His Favor, Saturating Our Soul In His Great Strength And Positioning Us In The Current Of His Courage! Equal To None Other Is His Great Goodness!

Impulsive anxiety runs me into the dead end of my human condition; this is the endgame of my enemy who craftily tempts me daily to exchange God's Truth for his lies, therefore devising to steal my joy, peace and strength. BUT God in His Great Goodness delivers me from these enemy traps and teaches me His Infinite Value in my followship of Him. If I chase things of human value, I end up in a pit dug by my enemy. If I diligently pursue AWE-GOD and His Kingdom Purpose, following Jesus and yielding to the promptings of His Holy Spirit, my heart experiences AWE of God!

Omnipresent Reality Check! I will experience and learn the AWE of God's Great Goodness through daily interaction with His Holiness, consistent relationship with the purity of His Heart Character and fellowship with His Inner Personality!

God's Favor positions me daily in Holy Alignment with God's Great Goodness, and in this atmosphere my AWE of Him develops! AWE of God is the 1st step to having a consistent life-pace of trust. Trust follows AWE and is accompanied by God's courage that will always journey with us to His place of refuge.

Have the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving. Amplified Bible

Good Roots = Good Fruit! By Joyce Meyer

It is important to realize that our behavior comes from somewhere. Bad behavior is like the bad fruit of a bad tree with bad roots.

You can spend your entire life dealing with outward symptoms, but the bad fruit will manifest somewhere else if the root is not eliminated. The principle never fails: rotten fruit comes from rotten roots, and good fruit comes from good roots.

To really deal with bad fruit, you must follow Paul's admonition to the Colossians to be "deeply planted" in God.

You may need to carefully examine your own roots. If they were unpleasant, harmful or abusive, don't be discouraged; you can be uprooted from that bad soil and transplanted into the good soil of Christ Jesus, so that you become rooted and grounded in Him and in His love.

Remember, uprooting can be painful. Being replanted and becoming rooted and grounded is a process that requires time and effort, but it is by faith and patience that we inherit God's promises.

My prayer for you is that you will be deeply planted and rooted in Christ, producing good fruit wherever you go!

Yes Lord, change me, make me into a person who waits well and finds Your divine purpose in waiting for Your Sovereign will to take shape in my life. Waiting on God is just as important as the mission or whatever you are waiting for. It is easy to slip into restlessness when we wait on God in those times we can't see ahead. Why? Because of our perspective, our perspective needs to be aligned in Holy Alignment with God. Therefore we need not to be entertaining these: doubt, what if questions, unbelief, nostalgia for the past and fear. While we are waiting our feet need to be firmly planted in Kingdom soil and we need to be fully facing our God, not looking back or fearing forward. Our perspective is balanced when our AWE in God is developed by thanksgiving. So times of waiting need to be seeded in the AWE of God by a grateful heart expressing itself verbally to God as we are deeply rooted in His Kingdom soil.

A Seasoned Servant Of God Has Encouraged Me Today

I've seen clay being fashioned into pottery on TV several times. This was my first live demo. We saw this in a place called Kumarakom by a local potter. It was much more breathtaking seeing the real thing! It took about 10 minutes to transform the ugly lump of clay into beautiful pottery - deft touches of his hand, careful molding, a flick of his wrist and the transformation was complete. Each touch made it more complete and more beautiful. I couldnt help but think of the bible verse

Isaiah 64:8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

The people got depressed, discouraged because of their trials and they spoke against God, complained about everything… God sent fiery serpents and many died.
The beginning of freedom is to stop blaming someone else and take responsibility for your behavior.
Fear keeps us from confronting.. How do you make fear go away and replace it with faith. If I just did not have this fear. Fear will not completely go away, God is not asking us to not feel fear, but "grow" forward when we have fear. Fear not, I am with you! Fear is the master spirit that satan uses to try to control people. The enemy has entrance to our lives through fear. So do it afraid. We can feel fear, but we don't have to have it control us. I don't care how I "feel" I am going to do what God has asked me to do.
Don't blame God, He is not like people. People hurt people, they are used by satan. God helps you "grow through" things.

Jesus felt great compassion for the crowds Matthew 14:14 Jesus was moved to compassion and healed them. Jesus took a small amount of bread and fish and fed thousands 15:32 I have compassion for these people, they have been with me three days and have had nothing to eat. Compassion moved the heart of Jesus. To The Pharisees and Sadducees Jesus tone was different, he spoke harshly. Honor me with your lips and your heart is far from me, blind leaders of the blind… to His disciples, his tone was different. He was open, transparent and genuinely affectionate. He did not keep secrets from the disciples, He told them about the future, He allowed them to witness His transfiguration on the Mount of Olives. Jesus is speaking loud and clear to us, we must come to God innocent and humble like a child. Whoever humbles himself as a little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus was who He said He was. Come to Jesus not with our hearts filled with condemnation and judgement but with Grace and forgiveness. When you come to God humbled as a child and in humility you represent Him, Jesus will feed you and heal you. Is there someone in your life you have not been compassionate too, someone you have been ungracious, someone you still need to forgive.

To be completely God's is not a step out, it is a step down, bowing before AWE-GOD. Humility is the common denominator to the child like faith I desire. It is this work of humility that I have to surrender myself to. Salvation is not truly salvation without sacrifice and sacrifice is only religiosity if not rendered without humility. The sacrifice of our salvation is genuine and powerful when stepped out with an undivided heart of humility. Humility is the attitude of a heart whose reverence for God has been developed in AWE of God. The measure of your AWE-GOD is in direct proportion to the humility that your soul is saturated in and this has an amazing affect on the attitude of faith your spirit steps out in action with. Jesus is worthy, I am not… Jesus is held high, my esteem of myself is low. I don't esteem myself higher than anyone else. I need Jesus more every day, I need Jesus most. I bow before Jesus in humble-reverent-awe and I completely submit myself to Him!

The Holy Spirit is with me and He is the ONE Who writes through me. I am His witness, this is His mission, not mine. He is the Spirit of Truth- that speaks the Truth with power, power that changes lives and hearts. My words have no power, His do. I must be led by The Holy Spirit's agenda and mission, not my own. Nothing I do belongs to me, not my time, not my plans, not even my purpose, I belong to God and His Kingdom. All I do is The Holy Spirit's mission. It is His vision, His mission and He will fund it, make a way for it and finish it.

God values me and in this the hope in my soul soars above my situational stress. Luke 12:6-7

What do I put my "value in" and how does this increase or decrease my hope?

My hope decreases when I put my expectation in human beings and they disappoint me.

My hope increases when I put all my expectations in God's Hand, surrendering my life to His Sovereign plan. Then it is all about HIM, and nothing about me.

God's hope is secure in things of "infinite value", I find my hope resting on things of "human value" and that makes my hope very restless and shaken in the storms of this life.

My restlessness is from me hoping in myself, me trying to figure out only what God can.

Our hope must be guarded in times of trial and testing. What guards our hope? The Word of God's Promise!

Jeremiah 29:11-12 (AMP)

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. 12 Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.

I can rest my hope on things of "infinite value" instead of resting my hope on things of "human value"!

Human Value: retirement plans – health insurance – life insurance

I can rest my hope in the promises of God, these have "infinite value" in my life. I can't rest my hope in the pledge of men.

God promised to take care of me, He promised to meet my needs and be my Provider.

Hebrews 6:18-20 We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It's an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us

I really like that! Hope is an unbreakable spiritual lifeline reaching me right into the Presence of God.

Infinite Value is what the Holy Spirit leads me too. Am I rooted to "infinite value"? Because this is where my hope is strengthened.

My roots need to be dug deeply in Kingdom soil and I should be planting seeds in my life that will bloom in "infinite value" and increase in God Hope!

I am giving my life to the things that have "Infinite Value" not to the things that have "human value" this is my life-passion this week and hope will follow me wherever I go!

Don't go down the bunny trail looking for human value! If you chase after "infinite value" you will be find a path of God-Hope

A Prisoner for the Lord… Walk worthy to what you have been called with all humility and gentleness, bearing with one another with love, eager to preserve unity. WE are called One Faith! Over all and in all is our God. Jesus gave gifts to men. He Who descended, ascended far above all the heavens that He might fill all things. He gave us Pastors Teachers to equip the saints, to mature us to manhood to the fullness of Christ. No longer children tossed to and fro by the ways and carried about by human cunnings. We are to grow up in every way in Christ, by speaking the truth in love. The Body builds itself up in love as it works together. Do not walk in the futility of your mind, alienated from God due to their hardness of hearts. Greedy to practice every impurity. The truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, corrupt by deceitful desires. Be renewed in the Spirit of your mind in the true righteousness and holiness. Speak the truth with each other, be angry and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give opportunity to the devil. Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouth but only such that is good for building up. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God to Whom you were sealed to the day of redemption. We are to grow up in "everyway"… not just in some ways, not just in the comfortable ways, but in every way unto Jesus. I need to stop being tossed to and fro by these changes in my life. God is allowing them for His purpose and even if I don't see the purpose when they happen, I need to trust Him. Jesus help me to take this next step in my walk with YOU, trusting YOU with everything, everything… EVERYTHING!!

Futility… Oh it is pointless… Why even try… I will never be able to do it… It is just too hard… Nothing ever turns out right… these are thoughts of futility and they X out God's possibility!

Whatever I speak should build up, not tear down in any way. I have to be more conscious of this… in any way, I do not tear down… but in all ways build up!

How does it look to you now? Is it not in your sight as nothing? Yet now take courage, O Zerubbabel, says the Lord; take courage, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; take courage, all you people of the land, says the Lord; work, for I am with you, says the Lord of hosts, according to the promise that I made you when you came out of Egypt. My spirit abides among you; do not fear. There was likely no one still living in Jerusalem who had witnessed Nebuchadnezzar destroy Solomon's temple and haul away its treasures 66 years before. But their parents and grandparents had told them the stories of the beauty and splendor of the symbol of the Jewish people and its unique link to God. With each telling the glories of the temple must have grown in imagination. Now, the people rebuilding the temple labored under the burden of that former greatness and began to regard their efforts to rebuild as pitiful and shabby by comparison. Anyone who is going to move forward with the Lord is going to have to get their head out of the past. This may be difficult given the power of history to shape our allegiances and faith and the toxic contagion of bitter resentment over loss. The past is one of the pieces of luxury baggage that a person rich in pride, guilt or hoarded memories must off-load if he or she is going to enter the narrow gate into the kingdom of heaven.

The people restoring the temple found their vision and materials did not match the stories and in increasing shame and doubt they began to carp, complain and criticize. Discouragement was setting in like an early frost blighting the unharvested crops.

It's a challenge that must be faced by a spouse who daydreams of a carefree but lost youthful love to escape the realities of bills, diapers, runny noses and the demanding routines of marriage. It is a spirit-draining temptation to believers longing for the soul-padded comfort of their former pastor and church family rather than thinking and praying through new perspectives and relationships.

Do we humble ourselves to God's leading in the realities of the present or do we elevate our memories of what was or might have been to first place in our hearts and minds? Kent Hansen

Nostalgia for the past is an idol that must fall. Jesus warned us to "Remember Lot's wife" (Luke 17:32), because she put her affinity for what lay behind her before following God and thereby forfeited the new life and faith that he was leading her family towards (Gen 19:26). Kent Hansen

The children of Israel received a fresh supply of manna every day they were in the wilderness (Ex 16:13-35). They were not to hoard it because that would be a denial of the evergreen grace of God's presence in the driest desert where their cravings for the savory stews of Egypt were a symptom of the addictive enslavement from which the Lord in his great mercy had delivered them.

Is it wrong to want what those who came before us possessed-- a nice home and family, a profitable occupation, a beautiful place of worship, perhaps? Yes, if those desires are the only way we see and measure God. We think we are restoring God when we seek to mend and revarnish the old furniture that decorated his dwellings with those who came before us, but we cannot relegate God to museums that we visit on the occasional field trip to marvel how it must have been then.

The people working on the temple wanted to restore the glory of the past. When they couldn't match the material and craftsmanship, they deemed themselves failures and unworthy.

That's the point when the Lord stepped in through Haggai with the jolt of reality in the form of a question. "Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Is it not in your sight as nothing?" (Hag 2:1-3)

Then the Lord followed up with a cascade of grace--

Take courage . . . work, for I am with you according to the promise that I made you when you came out of Egypt . . . My spirit abides among you; do not fear. I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land; and I will shake all the nations, so that the treasure of all nations shall come, and I will fill this house with splendor . . . the silver is mine, and the gold is mine . . . the latter splendor of this house shall be greater than the former . . . and in this place I will give prosperity, says the Lord of hosts (Hag 2:4-8).

The Lord wants the real thing, not replicas of the past, and he told them so. The very definition of the "real thing" is God's presence with his people. God is doing something new and everything necessary to his purpose is at his disposal. The splendor of the temple is that God is there, not what we bring to it.

We study the past for evidence of God's leading, but that evidence is just the dry bone's of Ezekiel's vision, unless God breathes new life into us and through us (Ez 37).

The problem with our nostalgic reverence for the past is that it keeps us from seeing what God is doing in us and for us and through us in the present. There is nothing that anyone had from God in the past that he is not willing to give to us now and more (John 14:12;1 Cor 2:8-10).

We are not step-children or poor relations depending on the spiritual "hand-me-downs" of our ancestors. No, "If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; everything old has passed away; see everything has become new" (2 Cor 5:17).

How great is your God and what can he do for you? Well, you don't know do you because he hasn't finished yet. You can know as his child and his handiwork that "The one who began a good work in you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ" (Phil 1:6). You can know that "When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory"( Col 3:4).

His power to do these things is complete. "I tell you, 'something greater than the temple is here,'" said Jesus referring to himself (Mt 12:6). It is Jesus Christ who is indestructible. "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again" (John 2:20). The good news is that we are the living stones of that rebuilt temple (1 Pet 2:4-5).

Don't resist his work of renewal by clinging to your past or by trying to repeat it in your relationships with the Lord and with others. Regardless of whether you consider your past, good, bad or indifferent, he has one thing to offer you for it--forgiveness, which indicates his judgment about what is required to deal with it.

In place of your past, he gives you a future with hope (Jer 29:11). Until then he gives you steadfast, unceasing love and new mercies every morning. Great is his faithfulness (Lam 3:22-23).

Wow! The Holy Spirit knows exactly that I needed that devotional! I am speechless! All I can say is OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!! I need to get my head out of the past! I am not meant to live in this house. God has me on the road with great Kingdom purpose! I need to let it go, this house and my past! God knows what He is doing and He has everything He needs to carry out His purposes in my life! I am purposefully planted in Pinehurst for a time such as this and God's Got This! God doesn't need me telling Him what I want to do and how I want to do it! I don't know why God moved us out of Military Ministry at Ft Benning GA, but I need to let go and stop trying to repeat it. If I don't let go of the past, I won't stop being restless and I will miss what God has for me in the present! This house, my life style here can become an idol if I keep looking back at it. I have been elevating my memories of what might have been instead of following God into the future. Nostalgia for the past is an idol in me that must fall! This is the root of my restlessness! Who am I serving? God or my past? Is my affinity for my past causing me to not be called to God 1^st, following God 1^st? Help me Jesus, show me how to topple this idol of nostalgia for my past ministry life and home life and help me to move forward to where You are leading without turning my head back for a second glimpse of nostalgia, but learning to fully face YOU and the direction YOU are leading Bob and I! Trusting God and waiting well is giving God time to work without impulsively interrupting Him with my doubts and unbelief.

I really love this scripture because it shows the difference between putting a "human value" on something and putting an "infinite value" on something. Knowing Jesus has Infinite value. Knowing a car, a home, things and stuff have "human value"! Giving my life to the things that have "Infinite Value" not the things that have "human value", should be my life-passion. When I don't want to give up the things that have "human value" so I can receive more "infinite value" in my life, then my roots are dug deep in earthly things. My roots need to be dug deeply in Kingdom soil and I should be planting seeds in my life that will bloom in "infinite value"! Right now I am leaning way far into things of "human value" and making choices based on preserving my "human value"! I need to lean into a Sovereign Sway and be more conscious of my moments being redeemed in the choices that render "infinite value"!

"David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God." 1Samuel 30:6

God is your source of strength. Other sources will run dry, or lose their effectiveness. Strength outside of God is temporary at best, and cannot be depended upon. You may find strength for a while through your sheer determination and will power, but eventually, your own efforts will dissipate in power. A life striving in self-directed strength will expire without an ongoing infusion of the Lord's strength. He is our life, yet we sometimes neglect our built-in energy source.

Do not allow the cares of this world to choke out the hope you have in Christ. You can find strength in Him, without having to look far at all. Sometimes we search for strength in all the wrong places and then sheepishly come back to God. There is no need to circumvent Christ. You can't improve on Jesus. Fall at His feet, and He will pick you up and fill you with His power.

The power of God is unparalleled in conquering fear and discouragement. You may have lost a loved one through death. Their influence in your life was immense. You will miss them sorely. Their faith was a rock of reassurance for you. But, now is the time to tap into the same strength that caused the faith of your friend to flourish. When you dig down deep with the Lord, you do not come away empty. He fills you to the brim, even to overflowing!

God is your burden-bearer and your strength-giver. Do not neglect to allow His Spirit to ignite your strength to love. Ask Him to enlarge your heart of love, so that He can love more through you. God takes your almost empty heart and fills it fully with His strength. This is the paradox of His power: Your weakness and emptiness mean that you have depleted self and are now in a position to be fully filled by Him. Ironically, now you are in a position of strength.

This is how God works. He empties us of ourselves, so that He can fill us with Himself. So, your tentative and weak state is really to your advantage. Humility and even fear position you to be strengthened in the Lord. Therefore, stay in the Lord. Moreover, He gives you strength so that you can do the same for others. Your newfound strength in Him is not meant to remain sterile—rather, it's meant to be viral.

Your strength in the Lord is for the sake of others. God's strength is meant to be unleashed. It is designed to serve the destiny of others. There are weak people all around you who are vulnerable to preying imposters of the faith. It is your authentic strength of character, residing in Christ, that is attractive to them. They discern this in you and desire to be strengthened by the Lord. So, allow them to lean on you for a time. Your being there for them is like a blood transfusion of God's strength. Their faith has become anemic through adversity, and God is using you to build up their eternal immunities. Strength in the Lord provides energy into eternity. Tap into it daily, for your sake and for the sake of others!

Speaking out of deep gratitude – A lot of times when I am "growing" through the valley's of life, I am not speaking out of deep gratitude, I am speaking out of discontentment. I know this needs to change. How I tromp through the valley's on my way to the mountain top needs to be with positive belief that God's endgame in my current life season is for my good!

For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him.

This is a stumbling block for me…. Exaggerated opinion of my own importance. God does not need me. I need God! I need to learn not to think more highly of myself than I should and then I might be more forbearing with others who disappoint me.

Philippians 2:3-5 He Took on the Status of a Slave

If you've gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care— then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don't push your way to the front; don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

5-8 Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.

So many times I get off course and instead of pursuing God's purpose, I am pursuing my human advantage, my way, wanting my way, wanting others to do things my way, not yielding to the Holy Spirit… It is the human condition to claim special privileges for ourselves – pushing our rights – what we believe we are owed from someone else. There is no selfless life when our personal rights are the focused on gaining advantage for us. Our 1^st call is to Jesus and His Kingdom.

I get off course when instead of pursuing God's purpose, I pursue my human advantage that does not yield to the Holy Spirit! Kimberlymac

How many times do I look for others to serve me? I come to something to receive, instead of coming with the motive of giving? My life motive should be to give 1^st before I receive! I really see this in online ministry, that so many come to receive instead of coming to give. My Thoughts About This = Miraculous Musings! J

I really love this scripture because it shows the difference between putting a "human value" on something and putting an "infinite value" on something. Knowing Jesus has Infinite value. Knowing a computer program has "human value"! Giving my life to the things that have "Infinite Value" or the things that have "human value" should be my life-passion. When I don't want to give up the things that have "human value" so I can receive more "infinite value" in my life, then my roots dug deep in earthly things. My roots need to be dug deeply in Kingdom soil and I should be planting seeds in my life that will bloom in "infinite value"! Right now I am leaning way far into things of "human value" and making choices based on preserving my "human value"! I need to lean into a Sovereign Sway and be more conscious of my moments being redeemed in the choices that render "infinite value"!

So how am I doing in the above?? Failure=F! I have given up and let go of family relationships because they were just too hard! I have not cared more for others in this transition, I have been grouchy with Bob, I have made him feel badly when I have my "pouty parties" of how much I have to give up to be married to him. I have had a swelled head, thinking God really needs me in ministry and "how well" I do things for Him. I have wanted things to be different, even though I don't deserve them to be so. I have been "angry" with God, flying off the handle at HIM and the way I felt He handled this whole job situation, this whole season of my life, I have been discontent and contentious before God in many ways, downright dishonoring of my faith in my personal relationship with Him. Oh and the puts up with anything…. Wow… failure… Always looking for the best, nope… pointing out all the wrongs 1^st… I hope I am keeping on going, I think the only reason I am is because God does not give up on me…. I have a lot to change to make a better God showing on the above… my heart needs to be cleansed… this season of my life, my focus has been on what I wanted, I thought I deserved better, who do I think I am??? Lord forgive me!

I really would not like to be a part of this crowd, one of the "everyone's" he is talking about here. The focus of my interests needs to sway to the Kingdom of God, on this side of heaven I need to serve the King!

1 Peter 3: 1-7
My husband needs to change! This is true… they do! But we need to let God do it!
Most wives who try to change their husbands, often has the wrong and opposite effect.
Misunderstanding causes us to not want any part of it. When we understand what God is trying to say, we see it differently.
In the same way…. Context about Jesus the way He submitted Himself to the Father.
3 Your adornment must not be merely external—braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
5 For in this way in former times the holy women also, who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves, being submissive to their own husbands; 6 just as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, and you have become her children if you do what is right without being frightened by any fear.
Merely External… but let it be the hidden person of the heart.
Strong willed lady… Sarah obeyed Abraham and did what was right
It doesn't work when you try to change your husband.
Speeches and nagging do not work. Christian lady being married to an unmarried man.
Do not be yoked together with an unbeliever.
When it comes to changing your husband, when you preach at him, it does not work, it has the exact opposite effect. How will he change? He doesn't forget when you tell him, he is resisting it. The way to change him is not by preaching at him.
Proverbs 9:13 A woman of folly is boisterous, she is naïve because she knows nothing.
Prov 14:1 The wise woman builds her house, the foolish tears it down with her own hands.
Prov 21:9 It is better to live in the corner of a roof than a house with a contentious woman.
Or live in the desert land!

There is something in a sinful nature of a man that makes it his tendency to neglect his wife. Love your wife like Christ loved the church… He tells them that because in the sinful heart of a man, he neglects his wife. The tendency of a woman is to nag her husband, go in the same place over and over again. What you think will change him has the opposite effect.
We NEVER….. You ALWAYS…. Are you EVER going to… Comparing him to everyone else… well so and so does this for his wife…
You are cutting at a man's ego, he gets respect from everyone else in his life but you.
VS 3-4 Your adornment must be more than external, the outward beauty will fade..
The priority has to be on the inside! Deal with the inside. The outside will not last.
What you catch him with, you need to keep him with.
There is nothing godly about not taking care of the outside. The contrast of the outside to the inside is what he is saying.
People are so beautiful on the inside it exudes to the outside.
The imperishable… free from decay, free from theft…
A quiet spirit… not talking about the personality, but a woman under control, under the authority of Jesus 1^st. Some women stir things up and others still the storm.
There is nothing wrong with you dressing nice, but be modest in an attractive fashion. The line is crossed when you dress in such a way to try to get the guys to check out your body.
Do you want to see some change in your husband. VS 5-6
Yield as your husband leads. Being submissive to their own husbands…. Jesus submitted Himself to the Father's Plan…
The middle voice. You voluntarily place yourself in that situation. You both are equals, one equal places herself under another equal so God will be glorified
Men and woman are equal in worth, ability, dignity, privilege. Equality does not equal sameness. Woman are 100 percent better at being a lady….
There are distinguishing roles and characteristics that make us awesome at what we do.
Equality does not equal sameness
Role responsibility…. Husbands love your wife as God loved the church. Servant Leaders… you lead by serving. You submit to Christ 1^st. Our submission is to Jesus 1^st and then the authorities God has put over us.
If someone does not yield in a circle, there will be a collision. Both can't lead, one has to yield.
Leadership has responsibilities more than privileges. Sacrificial, servant leader husband will not demand his own way.
When your husband tries, be their cheerleader not their critic. I believe in You, I thank God for you.
Teachable spirit, hungry, going after God, this man will be easier to yield too.
Verbally encourage VS 6… Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him her Lord. In the culture this was a sign of respect. Verbally praising Abraham, this is when the miracle came in her life. She did her part. She encouraged and respected Abraham.
A man has two main mirrors in his life that he looks into to find his self esteem. 99 percent of men have mirror of Work 1^st 2^nd Wife.
Your husband needs someone who believes in him. I am so proud of you, what God is doing in you and through you… this is oxygen to the soul. Verbally encouraging your husband.
Is there something you can do to make your husband know you are proud of him.
Do what is right without being frightened by fear. Is this guaranteeing if you do this your husband will change, it promises you that you are helping God's agenda, not hindering it. Am I helping or am I hindering God? You can't change your husband.
Ruth Graham Bell: It is my job to love Billy, it is God's job to make him good.
It is our job to lead to the attempted leadership of our husband, it is God's job to make him good.
Yield your heart to Christ 1^st, be deeply in love with Jesus 1^st!
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, if your eyes are on Jesus, He can do a miracle in your marriage.

Chasing The Giants Part 4
Joshua 10:7- Joshua said: Oh Sun stand still over Gideon… God put "pause over the universe"
Don't let anything keep you back from everything God has for you to walk in. Todd Mullins
Fear of the future paralyses you from stepping out into the new thing God has for you.
No matter how big your giant may be, Your God is bigger.
God is the ruler over every circumstance we face. He is the supreme authority in every situation.
Joshua 10:7-14 So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the warriors with him and all the mighty men of valor.8 And the Lord said to Joshua, Do not fear them, for I have given them into your hand; there shall not a man of them stand before you.9 So Joshua came upon them suddenly, having gone up from Gilgal all night.10 And the Lord caused [the enemies] to panic before Israel, who slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon and chased them along the way that goes up to Beth-horon and smote them as far as Azekah and Makkedah.11 As they fled before Israel, while they were descending [the pass] to Beth-horon, the Lord cast great stones from the heavens on them as far as Azekah, killing them. More died because of the hailstones than the Israelites slew with the sword.12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord on the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, be silent and stand still at Gibeon, and you, moon, in the Valley of Ajalon!13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation took vengeance upon their enemies. Is not this written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.14 There was no day like it before or since, when the Lord heeded the voice of a man. For the Lord fought for Israel.
This is scientifically impossible! But we have to believe that the God Who created the Sun and Moon can hold them and do with them whatever He wants.
Promises- We must know it, read it and study it because God's Word is life-giving to us. The Word of God is vital to defeating the Giants that stand in our pathway!
If we fall out of the habit of spending time in God's Word, we fall off the plan, purpose and path God has for us and we drift away into danger…
VS8 God said: I am with you, I have taken care of this- I've got This
When we hear the Word of God it initiates faith in us!
Romans 10:0 Consequently faith comes from hearing the message and the message is heard by the Word of Christ.
What we hear in the Word of God, determines what we do.

Joshua marched all night before the victory came, sometimes it feels like we are doing the same.

2 Timothy 2:21

So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work. The Bible refers to us as earthen, or frail, human vessels (see 2 Cor. 4:7). Like stoneware formed on the potter's wheel, we are made of clay (see Is. 64:8). God formed Adam out of "the dust of the ground," according to Genesis 2:7, and Psalm 103:14 says, "He knows our frame, He [earnestly] remembers and imprints [on His heart] that we are dust" (AMP).

Controlling Your Tongue By Joyce Meyer

A significant key to glorifying God is controlling our tongue. Psalm 50:23 says, "He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies Me...."

What would happen if you gave your mouth to God each day so that only godly words came from your lips? And I'm not just talking about praising and thanking God in your quiet time, or speaking positive, encouraging words over yourself. The health of your relationships depends on how you speak to, over and about others.

Psalm 34:13 says, "Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit." Do you lie to others? Do you insult them or speak ill of them? Or do you speak encouraging, life-giving words that bring joy to everyone you meet?

Dedicate your mouth to God and use it only for what pleases Him, praise and worship, edification and exhortation, and giving thanks. Place your lips on the altar each morning. Give your mouth to God through praying His Word: "O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise" (Psalm 51:15).

Prayer Starter: Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will praise and thank You. Help me use my words to bring joy and life to those around me and to praise and glorify You.

Developing My AWE-GOD With An Attitude Of Gratitude!

Father God, I am so grateful today for the way YOU make a way for me when there is no way. Today, I asked and today, You led. I am grateful YOU are my Way-Maker. You made a miraculous way for me today by YOUR Favor and direction. I am grateful for my Way-Maker!

YOU VERSION READING PLAN- THOUGHTS AS I READ:

Genesis 36,37,38

Interesting how Esau and Jacob had acquired so much "stuff" that it caused them not to be able to live together, they had to separate in order for their livestock to be able to live.
Edom was Esau's name and he had a kingdom of Edom and they had a king before the nation of Isreal had a king.
Israel showed Joseph partiality and that caused sibling rivalry. Joseph in the foolishness of his youth told his brothers a dream that said they were going to bow down to him and this added to their hatred of him. He told his father the dream and his father questioned it, but did not disavow it, he pondered it in his heart.
Then comes the generational sin into play again when his brothers plot to kill him, yet the provincial will of God comes into play by the Kingdom purposes of God trumping the plan of man.
God used Rueben to stop their plan, he also had a plan to get Joseph out of harms way but His plan was not God's plan either. God had a plan and this plan was the outcome for Joseph.
Interesting how they sold Joseph for silver – and how Jesus was sold out- betrayed for silver
Judah was used by God to supersede Rueben's plan. The brothers came up with a plan and they deceived their father – also generational sin in play.
Interesting how the traders sold Joseph to Potiphar, one of Pharoah's officials. God placed Joseph in a place where he would be positioned right where He had planned for Joseph to be.
Judah took a wife and his oldest son was evil in God's eyes, so the Lord put him to death. Very interesting…
Onan tried to make his own will happen, because he did not want to obey his father, so God put him to death.
Judah's life spiraled in sin after he came up with the plan to get rid of Joseph, sin beset him and his family. Judah had sex with what he thought was a prostitute, but it was his daughter in law, who he had not kept his promise to give his youngest son too. She tricked him. Every sin Judah committed came back on him as a consequence.

Romans 12

When we offer our bodies as a holy sacrifice, that pleases God, when we offer our bodies to God, we are worshiping him.
Don't live the way the world lives. Let your thinking be completely changed. Then you will know what God wants for you. You will agree with God, knowing what He wants is right, knowing that His plan is perfect and good for you.
Don't think of yourself more highly than you should, put God 1^st.
We are the Bride of Christ, we are one in Him, yet we also have individual Kingdom purpose designed uniquely in us.
We all have been gifted and differ from one another.
Do you have the gift of prophecy? Use it in keeping with the faith you have
Is it your gift to serve? Then serve!
Are you a teacher? Then teach!
Are you an exhorter? Then tell others how they should live.
Hate evil, hold on to what is good. Cling to God with the all ofyou.
Love deeply… Love on with honor.
Honor others more than yourself. Never let the fire in your heart go out.
Keep your fire alive for God… serve Him.
Hope in joy! Suffer patiently. Pray diligently.
Agree with each other without any pride in between you.
Don't be partial with the giving of your friendship, love unconditionally everyone God puts in your life path.
Live at peace with everyone. Don't pay back evil with evil. Let God work out his justice, let go and let God.
Feed your enemies with truth, give them the Living Water of God. Give to your enemies the fellowship of eternity that lasts forever.
Don't let evil overcome you, overcome evil by doing good.

Genesis 39,40,41,42,43,44, 45

Joseph's master experienced the results of the favor upon him. He saw the success Joseph had and realized it was from God.
God gave Joseph great favor with Potiphar, making him feel pleased with Joseph. He put Joseph in charge of his house and everything he owned.
The master's wife tempted Joseph and he resisted, wanting to keep the trust of his master. He was more loyal to his master then he was to satisfying his flesh
Potiphar's wife got aggressive and Joseph had to run from the temptation. Then she lied about Joseph.
Potiphar's was angry and he did not believe Joseph over his wife. Even though Joseph did the right thing, he still ended up, purposely so in prison. God had a plan and it involved Joseph going to prison.
What looked like injustice was truly God's purposes in play, working out a good end results by way of a bad thing.
Even while Joseph was in prison, the Lord gave him great favor. Joseph was put in charge of the prisoners and was accountable for everything going on in the prison.
God gave Joseph success in everything he did in prison.
Even though you are waiting on God to deliver you, the waiting time is just as important as the time you are delivered.
The baker and wine taster were put in prison and both were disturbed about a dream they had and Joseph asked God about the dreams and God told them what they meant.
God wants to be a part of all of our lives, we need to ask Him for help in everything we are involved in, He is the solution.
Joseph asked helped the wine taster and asked him to talk to the Pharoah on his behalf, but the wine taster forgot all about Joseph once he was out. That happen a lot in human relationships where you help someone and they forget all about you after they get what they want.
Two years passed!!! Joseph stayed in prison and bloomed where he was planted in God's favor and success, even in prison, he rose to the top!
Pharoah told Joseph, when you hear a dream I was heard you can explain it. Joseph immediately gave God the credit. Saying, I can't do it, but God can! Isn't that the truth in all of our lives! We can't do it, but God can!
Impossible! I can't do it, but God can! His purposes are in play with an endgame conceived with premeditated possibility!
God gave Pharaoh the dream, then through Joseph He told of future events in order to protect what seemed like Egypt, but truly was to protect the bloodline of Jesus and everyone else in the path of that protection benefited.
So they decided to store up the grain during the good years to have during the lean years.
Pharaoh, grateful for the knowledge and seeing God's spirit upon Joseph made him next to him the highest official in the land. Going one day from the prison, to the next day to the highest official in the land, now that is how God's Favor, provision and purpose works possibility into impossibility.
Only God's Favor and Wisdom can work into impossibility, by way of His provisionary purpose, possibility.
Pharaoh gave Joseph authority, clothing and gold and then put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt. This is what God can do in perfect, purposeful timing.
Joseph's 1^st son was named Manasseh, signifying that the good that happened through God's hand of favor and provision, far outweighed the suffering to get to the place he was in.
The land of Canaan had no food, so Israel sent his sons to Egypt and this was the revelation of the whole God purpose of this story. God allowed Joseph to be sent to Egypt to be there for his family when they needed to be saved from the famine. God had a plan and it was perfect in the end, even though it involved suffering in the middle.
We suffer through seasons of life while God's perfect purposes work towards a good endgame, a providential grand conclusion!
Joseph's brothers did not recognize him, but he recognized them. The dream Joseph had was fulfilled when his brothers bowed before him
Joseph put his brothers in prison and it was interesting to see how God let them reap a little bit of what they had sown in Joseph's life.
In prison, they remembered what they did to Joseph and they felt like this trouble was from God for what they had done.
All that time they had left Simeon there… isn't that interesting!
Joseph showed partiality to Benjamin which was the same thing that started all that problem, this time, it had a different outcome because of the humility of the brothers.
Joseph tried to trick the brothers so that he could keep his brother Benjamin with him. But they told him the Israel would die of grief.
Joseph revealed himself to his brothers and told them that he was not angry with what had happened, because he realized that God had sent him to Egypt to save his family from the current famine.

Romans 13,14

Everyone who is allowed to be in authority is put there by the purposes of God in play in our lives.
When you oppose authority, you oppose God's appointment of them.
Do what is right, then you don't have to worry about the authorities in your life.
God carries out His anger through authorities when you don't do what is right.
Give to your authorities what is due them: respect, taxes, honor… show your submission by giving them what is due
Love your neighbor as you love yourself. Love does not harm its neighbor. Love obeys the law.
Dark night of evil is how he describes the earth and he asks us to put on the armor of light. Act as we should, like people living in the light.
Act like you should: don't get drunk; have nothing to do with wild parties; don't take part in sexual sin or evil conduct. Don't fight with each other and don't be jealous of anyone.
Jesus Christ is our clothing. Don't even let you mind go in the direction of what your sinful nature wants.
14… Don't judge others because you have differences of opinion. Truth matters, opinion does not!
Whatever you do, do it to honor the Lord 1^st. Don't do things out of religiosity; be found in Christ, in relationship with Him!
Whatever we are "growing through" we belong to the Lord and we honor Him with our lives! We are The Bride of Christ!
Only in God's courtroom will judgement be made, we are not to judge others.
We all will have to explain for what we have done, each one of us will stand before God.
Don't put anything in anyone's way that will cause them to trip and fall.
Don't do things or eat things or drink things that will cause someone else to be upset, be considerate of others and how they feel about things.
Live in peace and do all you can to build each other up in peace.
Everything that is not based on faith and acted out of faith is sin.
